Holdings include two holograph manuscripts, Loose Recollections of Professor A. (Apr. 1833) and Memoire sur la vie et les ouvrages de M. Story (May 28, 1837), and four letters from Sumner to various correspondents: George Ticknor Curtin (nd), Sarah Waldo Wetmore Story (nd), and David Baille Warden (1830). Also present are transcriptions of two letters from Sumner to William Wetmore Story (1838-1839), and one letter from George Sumner to Story re Charles Sumner (nd). The Thomas Denman Collection contains one letter from Denman to Sumner, 1840. The Charles Dickens Collection includes one letter from Sumner to Charles Mackay, 1858. The Adrian Hoffman Joline Collection includes one letter from Sumner to an unidentified recipient, 1863. The William Wetmore Story Collection includes fourteen letters from Sumner to Story, 1834-1839. The Henry David Thoreau Collection contains one letter from Sumner to Thoreau, 1854. The HRHRC Library also holds a copy of The Scholar, the jurist, the artist, the philanthropist (1846) inscribed by Sumner to Mrs. Story.
